My lifelong dream has been to travel. I want to see the world, learn a few languages, meet a ton of awesome people, and have some amazing adventures along the way. I have had the opportunity to go to most states in the US and a handful of countries; however, I have yet to live, work, and be fully immersed in another country and culture… until now. Thanks to an agreement signed by the Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs and the US Government in 2008, I have the opportunity to live and work in Ireland for up to twelve months. As you can imagine, this is a chance I simply couldn’t pass up. So I booked my flight from New York to Dublin May 2 and I won’t be back stateside until September.
There is so much to do and so little time. I know no one, have no idea where I am going to live or stay, have no clue where I am going to work, nothing. But I do know one thing: I am moving to Ireland in ten days. I’m sure nerves will hit me soon, but for now, I am ecstatic. Let the countdown begin!
