Created in November of 2008, Peanut Butter Bound was originally a way for me to see the world and share parts of it with others. At eighteen years old and a sophomore in college, I desperately wanted to travel but I never thought it would be anything more than a dream. Raised in a town in Tennessee that less than three hundred people call home, exotic, faraway places were things you only saw in movies and read about in magazines. These were not places that you could actually go to, at least that seemed to be the mentality people had where I grew up.
I launched Peanut Butter Bound via Google’s blogger, or BlogSpot as it was known then, and had people submit me a photo they snapped during one of their travels. They added a short blurb about the photo and with each post I included their name and site. Over the past six years, things have changed quite a bit.
Peanut Butter Bound has grown to a site where I share stories of my own travels, not just dreams of them. At twenty-three, I have made the dream of travel a reality. I have lived in three countries on two continents and visited nineteen countries. My wanderlust has yet to be satisfied, however, so I travel whenever and wherever I can. Peanut Butter Bound is how I share those travels with family, friends, fellow travelers and the world. You will find stories of my adventures and photos of my explorations, but also travel tips, reviews and advice. You can also find information about me. Last but not least, I am deathly allergic to peanut butter, hence the origin of the name. I hope you enjoy!
